With Reid highly doubtful and Collins and Fonte out, we are left with the dodgy Ogbonna and inexperienced Rice at CB.
We have a midfield that won't be able to live with Man C and a powder puff attack probably led by the mentally unhinged Sakho.
If the home city take pity on us, we might escape with a defeat similar to the one inflicted two nights ago.
Could be more embarrassing though.

Agree with zico, good post. Only major disagreement I would have with that is Fernandes in midfield. Well, midfield or anywhere else for that matter. At present this boy is an embarrassingly weak excuse for a footballer. Until he decides to man up and actually compete physically to win the ball and hold onto it, he should be nowhere near our first XI. Never mind his penchant for giving it away in dangerous areas/situations.
I'd pair Rice and Noble. I'm not a fan of us playing a back 3 as the players we've used there just aren't good enough at bringing the ball out and we've tended to sit way too deep. Given how feeble we are midfield though, I've come to the conclusion that it's the only solution. although I'm not sure Moyes will. I agree Fonte looked good on the right of a 3 but not sure he's fit or if this is the game to bring him back. Zabaleta doesn't have the pace to play RB in a 4 for me, but could be good on the right side of a 3 alongside Collins and Reid.
Cresswell is in terrible form at present - WTF happened to him, it's incomprehensible he could deteriorate so badly ? Virtually every time he receives the ball he seems to check, look inside or backwards. He needs to be gotten rid of for me too. I'd have Arthur left WB and Antonio on the right. I know that's not ideal but it would allow us to play Ayew and Lanzini in support of whichever striker and provide some width.
It really shouldn't be this hard to find an XI that works from a squad of PL players. Just another example of the rank incompetence endemic at our club.

amazing armchair - you managed to get the right players in the wrong order.
i'd play Byram as right wing back if he's fit.
Noble & Obiang are the only real options at centre mid.

i would have gone with 3 centre backs but i'm not sure we'll have 3 fit ones.
Kouyate could fill i with Rice and that clown Ogbonna i guess.
otherwise we dont have too many options.
Antonio & Sakho have to start.

Well said good post,. Usually you can say I'd pick him over him or play this formation rather than that formation but with this current lot I can't even put one name down and build around that player. Even the dark days under Grant you could at least stick Parker in and go from there.
Personally I'd kick the whole lot out and play the kids but I don't think these are the games to do that. I don't want the likes of Rice, Martinez and Quina being destroyed mentally because they have been caught up in an embarrassing destruction because I seriously can see City banging in at least 5 and that's being hopeful !!
Maybe Noble purely because he doesn't hide and tries his heart out even though the legs are gone, same with Zabaletta and possibly Lanzini and Arthur because despite a serious lack of quality recently those two at least haven't hidden from wanting the ball. Antonio if fit at least tries although recently like Lanzini he looks like he wants out and Adrian at least has passion although I feel a bit for Hart because he hasn't exactly had a defence and midfield ahead of him. The rest well just fill in the spaces!!

a team v man city is an impossible question to answer with this current squad, i have no faith in any eleven picked. I think I know what Moyes will do, he'll again go with five in midfield and hope to nick a goal while defending for the majority of the match. I think that would be pointless and we may as well be positive, so I'd go with a back three with wingbacks and pick a front two. Cresswell for me is done, the sooner he's moved on the better so I'd stick Arthur left wingback and continue with Zabaleta on the right. I'd recall Fonte if possible and play him as the right CB as he looked good there earlier in the season and recall Collins if available for the central position. left side of the three? I'd give Rice a go, Ogbonna looks comatosed most games now. central midfield I'd change the current two, bring back Noble and pair him with Fernandes if available with Lanzini playing a bit deeper and asking him to break when in possession. up top its time to start Sakho and hopefully Hernandez will be available. if not give Martinez a game

We should of been playing some of the kids all season but this is the one match I don't want them thrown into
Hate saying it but let this lot take the humiliation that most of us suspect not the youngsters unless we really believe they would learn much
